The Situation
After facing significant federal funding cuts, IdahoPTV recognized that stewarding their higher-level members was critical but lacked a clear strategy to identify the right supporters and activate an effective plan. The organization needed a fast, scalable approach to identify the highest‑potential members giving between $250 and $9,999, so they could focus efforts where they would have the greatest year‑end impact and strengthen individual giving overall.
The Work
IdahoPTV signed on to use AGP’s Mid-level Accelerator solution, which incorporates GivingDNA insights to prioritize their vast member population, with strategic advice and supporting guidance from mid-level and major giving experts.
Implementation took 2-3 weeks and began with a stakeholder survey, so the AGP team was clear on goals, IdahoPTV’s member universe, the rules associated with it, and the internal capacity to implement recommendations.

The Results
In 2025, federal funding cuts sparked an extraordinary wave of generosity across all giving levels for IdahoPTV. Most notably, donors in the $250-$9,999 range stepped up in a significant way — and many of them had not given at this level in prior years.
In fact, 57% were new at that level. This represented both a tremendous opportunity and a clear mandate: these donors must be intentionally engaged to retain and grow their support.
The impact of focused strategy in this segment is undeniable:
- For the $250–$9,999 cohort overall, CYE-to-CYE revenue increased 74%, and revenue per donor grew 25% to $904
- Among those who were intentionally prioritized and personally engaged, revenue per donor increased 46% to $1,175 — nearly double the growth rate of the broader cohort.
- Most compelling, 91% of personally engaged donors renewed their CYE gift — significantly outperforming all other donors in this giving range (67%). And 89% of those selected for personal engagement made their largest gift ever to IdahoPTV
These results make one thing clear: strategic, personal engagement with the right donors doesn’t just improve outcomes — it fundamentally transforms them. Results exceeded expectations with forecasts of a 13% increase in revenue from these efforts, along with an increase of 8% per revenue/donor
The increase in giving from the overall cohort in this giving range was unexpectedly followed by significant growth among those who were selected for personal stewardship and engagement. The experience also led to increased team morale and confidence that continuing to prioritize and personally engage those $250+ donors will help retain this new high-level of support.
